Wes

Airdrie, Alberta

After a long rewarding career in aviation of 35 years, Wes decided it was time to shift gears. An avid home ‘do it yourself’ kind of guy, Wes loves to be outdoors working on his next yard project. He is currently expanding the back deck.

Decorative curbing first caught Wes’ eye when the product first hit markets. He was immediately sold on the innovative way the concrete could make yards look amazing and make lawn care easier!

Twenty years later and a wife, three grown children and a successful career, Wes and his youngest son Alex have dived right into their own Curb-Ease franchise.

Helping Dad operate the family owned business gives Alex an excellent way to work and earn money for his post-secondary education. Like Dad, Alex loves his sports and has been a competitive lacrosse player for many years. He is currently playing for the Simon Fraser University Men’s lacrosse team in Burnaby BC. Wes’s sport of choice is golf in the summer and competitive curling in the winter months.

Training began mid-season for Alex and Wes. With lots of help from Garry and Pat, the trainees quickly became certified. As soon as the trailer and the supplies arrived home, they tackled 124 feet in the front yard for their first curb. (it looks great by the way)

The opening season saw a few bumps and hiccups along the way with some kicked curbs and a spilt wheel barrel full of concrete. The team settled in after a few jobs with a solid routine and found their way to many successful curbing jobs.
